Major General Eustace D'Souza
Major General Eustace D’Souza PVSM (Retd. 1975 as GOC Delhi Area)Class of 1937.

Commissioned 1943 into the Maratha Light Infantry. A WW II Veteran he saw active service in Egypt, North Africa and Italy against the Germans and the Italians.

During the first Indo-Pak War in 1948 he distinguished himself in the Uri Sector of J&K and was Mentioned in Despatches. In 1971 Major General D’Souza commanded an Infantry Division and also 10 BSF Battalions, a total of 25,000 men. He was in charge of defending a 200 km front in J&K. At the end of the war Major General D’Souza’s Division had captured 75 sq. kms of Pakistani territory.

He was decorated with the PVSM in 1971 for “leadership of the highest order”. On his retirement a road in Delhi was named as General D’Souza Marg
