One of the projects being supported by your St. Stanislaus Ex-Students Association is The
in Uplat, Patilpada, Talasari.
GNANMATA SADAN is an Educational Trust of the Society of Jesus, Bombay Province set up to administer the Talasari Mission. The Trust, in collaboration with various congregations of Sisters and the Diocese of Vasai, runs the following institutions: 11 Primary schools, 4 Secondary schools, 1 Junior College and 5 Boardings

Why an English School? In our globalized world English has become indispensable for progress. Currently the Adivasis have no option for an English education. Those who can afford an English education are already attending the two existing English medium schools in the area.
It has become important that Adivasis have a chance to compete equally with their local as well as urban counterparts in the job market. However, local educational policy does not fund an English education and hence the subsidies required are very high.
Starting a new English medium school from Std V allows for identification of promising students from poor economic backgrounds and to partly sponsor their education. The salaried Adivasis have alternatives. The Uplat English School project will probably be the only English-medium school for an Adivasi student.
The Project To start an English-medium school for the Adivasis in conjunction with the existing Marathi-medium High school at Uplat Patilpada, Talasari.
The Capital investment project has been taken care of by Benefactor agencies. The Running costs have to be generated from Students Fees and involvement of Alumni Associations of the Jesuit Institutions in the Bombay Province. It involves
Re-building the Academic Block to include classrooms for the English-medium school, laboratory, science and computer labs, audio-visual room and staff facilities in four phases
Re-building the Girl’s Boarding to house 110 girls and the Sisters Residences. (The sisters manage the boarding and teach in the school)
Re-building the Primary Blockthe oldest structure of mud and brick.
Extending the Boy’s Boarding to accommodate 150 boys
The Plan The then Rector and Chairman of the Gnanmata Sadan Society, Talasari, Fr. Wendell D’Cruz SJ has by his letter dated August 11th 2006 authorized the St. Stanislaus Ex-Students Association to solicit funds towards the running costs of the School.
The Managing Committee of your St. Stanislaus Ex-students Association has set a target amount of Rs. 2 lakhs per year.
