World Union of Jesuit Alumni's
The Jesuit Alumni World Union was created in Bilbao on July 31, 1956, on the occasion of the 4th Centenary of St Ignatius's death. It was elaborated there
" The Magna Charta " (called Loyola's Magna Charta) which was approved by the Superior General of the Society of Jesus: this Magna Charta was updated during Drongen's meeting (near Gent in Belgium) in August, 1979. Statutes were the object of several revisions, from a text project which was diffused in the national Federations in 1966 before the Congress of Rome of 1967, and also in the next World Congress, of Versailles (in 1986), of Bilbao-Loyola (in 1991) and of Sydney (in 1997).
The World Union adheres to Omaec (Catholic Education Alumni World Organisation) and pays as membership an annual subscription.
