JESUIT ALUMNI ASSOCIATIONS OF INDIA
ABOUT JAAI St. Stanislaus Ex-students Association was one of the founder members of the JAAI movement.
FEDERATION OF JESUIT ALUMNI ASSOCIATIONS OF INDIA The Formation of the Federation in January 99, at the Second National Congress, resulted in the need for a structure and the newly constituted Governing Council immediately got its office bearers into place. As part of the required structure, the four Zonal Councils have been formed for the North, Central, Western and Southern Zones. Zonal Regions have organised at least one zonal council each during the period.
MEETINGS OF THE GOVERNING COUNCIL After the first meeting in Kolkota in January 99, immediately after the National Congress, the Governing Council met in Mumbai, Bangalore, Jamshedpur, Kolkota again, Goa and Delhi. The term of the first Governing Council came to an end with the Third National Congress in November 2001 and the Second Governing Council met immediately after the Congress and subsequently in October 2002 at Kolkatta.
MEMBER ASSOCIATIONS Based on available documentation, we have been able to identify around one hundred and twenty educational institutes ranging from post graduate and special colleges to tiny village schools, who are potential members of the Federation. However to date just forty-three have registered as members. Efforts are being made to reach out to the others. Some institutes need support to revive a dormant association of alumni, while others perhaps need the assistance to start up. For the smaller associations, payment of fees is a critical issue and some larger associations have extended support. Correspondence and documentation is being sent to all institutes and associations irrespective of their membership status
