Teacher Profiles

Hi, great job with what you guys are doing. Rai's profile does trigger a lot of memories. I am sure you have a lot of people already in mind to profile but here are my two cents. Can you consider profiling our primary teachers as well? In addition, remember Leena, Grace (our craft teacher), Ingrid, Mercy, Maud, Thelma, Mary ( I think she was a primary teacher), Daphne.

The sad thing would be if any of them passed away and we did something posthumously.

Freddy.

Hi Dean

Good hearing from you. Yes it took some doing getting so much of history of a 143 year old school. We are not yet finished. One way we can share this history with fellow Stanislites is to talk about it on this site. Unfortunately we have very little participation.

Do spread the word about our Alumni site. What sort of IT skills do you have? We can use some of your skills.

Hey Gerry

Sorry about the long silence, been busy.

Think i should have some old photos in Mumbai, will put them up when I visit next.

I'm basically a network engineer, but all i really do is yell at people and look wise at meetings.

But anyways tell me what you need and lets see what I can come up with.

We should hook up with Jeevan D'mello (school captain 1982 or 83), he's in the gulf somewhere and should be able to input tons (including cash!)

Master Lohale

G'day Aubrey,

Thanks for calling with Greg Kane's mob#!

I last remember Master Lohale passing away, & that might be, guessing, 20 years ago (?).

No idea of the son who joined the priesthood.  I've just remembered, my Dad has brought a copy of the Directory of the Catholic Archdiocese of Bombay here, so will get him look it up.

Anybody know where the other son, Satish, might be?

 Cheers,

Adrian.

Teacher Profiles: My recollections

Yes, Trs. Daphne & Dolly were the Correia sisters. Tr. Daphne married Mr Cyril Gabriel (the PT & Sports master).

Tr. Maud d'Lima to my recollection taught me Maths in Std 5 (1965) ... also filled my calendar with "Teachers remarks" and am guessing I am the only student in the history of Stanilaus' day scholars who had them signed by the Principal of the school ... but thats another story!!

Remember Tr. Odette Noronha taught Arts & Crafts. Fantastic at story telling too. Also involved in Dramatics and together with Fr. Myron Pereira very occupied in the production of the pantomine "Princess JuJu".

Teacher Profiles: Update on Freddy's Comment

Maud was our primary teacher. Third Grade I believe.

Ingrid thought us French I think but she was only there for a couple of years in the 80's

Thelma Misquitta is still in school.

Mercy Fernandes thought us English I believe. She used to live in the colony opposite St. Andrews church

Daphne thought us history and yes she did have a sister Dolly.

Regards.
