Master John Lohale

At 91 Master John Lohale is the oldest living Teacher of St. Stanislaus. He joined the School in 1958 and retired in 1978. Master Lohale taught Hindi and Marathi in Std V, VI, VII and VIII. He was firm yet very kind as a teacher. We salute you Master Lohale

 

 

 

 

 
 


Teacher Rose D'sa

Teacher Rose began teaching at 22 years at St. Sebastian School which was located across St. Stanislaus. She taught at this free school for ten years. When St. Sebastian closed down the then Principal Fr.Casale absorbed her into St. Stanislaus in 1961.

Teacher Rose taught till 1985 completing completing 24 years of service at St. Stanislaus. Teacher Rose is fondly remembered as a kind and genteel teacher. She taught all subject including Games but excluding PT, Marathi and Drawing. She was Class teacher of Stds. III and IV. Thank You, Teacher Rose.

 

 

 


Mr. Johnnie Alves

Mr Johnnie Alves taught at St. Stanislaus High School from 1943 to 1958. He was amongst the first teachers who organized dramatics, debates and field trips at the school.

He is currently Honorary Administrator at St. Andrew's College, a position he has held for the last 27 years.

 

 

 

 

 


Dr. Keki Gharda

Dr Gharda belonged to the Class of 1941 of St. Stanislaus. Keki Hormusji Gharda is a prominent Indian chemical engineer, chemist and entrepreneur. He is the founder, chairman and managing director of Gharda Chemicals Limited, an R&D-based company with business interests in agrochemicals, polymers and high performance pigments.

Dr. Gharda graduated from Mumbai University's Department of Chemical Technology. He then obtained a Master's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Following the defense of a doctoral thesis, he received a Ph. D. in chemistry from the University of Oklahoma.

Upon his return to India, Dr. Gharda established Gharda Chemicals, which is today one of the largest agrochemical companies in India. For his contribution to chemistry and chemical engineering, Dr. Gharda is a recipient of the American Institute of Chemist's 'Chemical Pioneer' award.

Mr Gharda the philanthropist now works through the Gharda Foundation in equal partnership with the people of rural India to ensure them access to the basic necessities of clean water, sanitation, health, education and improving agricultural output.

Dr Gharda has been supporting our School and the Uplat English School over the years and we thank him for his magnanimity.


Mr. Roger Pereira
Roger belonged to the Class of 1955 at St. Stanislaus is one of India’s most renowned communications professionals. He began his career, which spans 45 plus years, as a creative writer with J. Walter Thompson. Roger has been key to R&PM:Edelman being recognized as the McKinsey of the PR business in India.

Roger has worked with the Government of India on a wide range of issues: Defense, Nutrition, Indo-US relations and a few crisis management issues. He is also the recipient of several national and international awards for a range of advertising and public relations campaigns including the Clio Awards, the New York Advertising Festival Award, the IPRA Award and the IAA scholarships at New York in 1964 and London in 1967.  He has subsequently served on the juries for these awards. Roger has lectured on advertising, marketing and developmental communications at leading Universities in India and in the United States (Chicago, Northwestern, North Carolina and Hawaii).


Fr. Warner D'souza

Warner D'souza graduated from St. Stanislaus in 1986. Today, Fr. Warner is a Bandra Youth icon. Besides his pastorial duties Fr Warner has made a significent contribution to the civic movement in Bandra. He is an inspirational leader who has become a role model for many of our youth in Bandra.


Mr. Neale Murray
Neale Murray graduated from St. Stanislaus in 1977. He is one of the founders of Fountainhead, one of India’s premier experiential marketing companies. Neal graduated from Bombay University- BA with English Literature and Economics in 1984. He is also a musician and involved in theater, has been part of stage productions like Annie - The musical, The Witness and many a one act plays.

He is the Festival Director of the very successful Celebrate Bandra festival. The festival is conceived by his company Fountainhead and presented in collaboration with the various citizen associations of Bandra. All the proceeds from this festival are used to support worthy causes in Bandra.The festival which has been staged 4 times since 2003 and is now a regular feature on the suburb’s and city’s event calendar. Neale has supported the School over the years and has always been there when the School needed him. We thank you for your support and generosity Neale.


Mr. Sabbas Joseph

Sabbas belongs to the Class of 1977 is one of the founder directors of Wizcraft International Entertainment has been actively involved with media from the beginning of his career.

A master’s degree holder in political science from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai; Sabbas went on to study journalism at the Xavier’s Institute of Communications, Mumbai. He returned to the institute to teach A/V films making, journalism and held several workshops on script writing for films. He is a former journalist who worked with some of the country's leading publications.

As director of Wizcraft International Entertainment and an 18 year industry veteran, Sabbas Joseph has spearheaded & managed several mega corporate events for the company. His creative vision and strategic approach are a driving force in the company's future.


Mr. Pradeep Vijaykaar

Pradeep belongs to Class of 1966 is the Assistant Editor of Times of India. He is a graduate in Economics from St Xavier's College and is a Times of India gold medalist from the Rajendra Prasad Institute of Mass Communications.

He is an accomplished journalist who has covered a wide range of sports from cricket (5 World Cups) to kabaddi, from bridge to rugby and table tennis, archery, motor sports and cue sports. He is current vice-president of the Sports Journalists Federation of India and is the present President of Mumbai Press Club. He is a broadcaster and has done radio and cricket commentary both on radio and TV.

He has taught news media management at the UPG Institute of Communications and sports journalism at KC's Bombay College of Journalism. He is course owner of Writing and Communication courses of The Times School of Journalism.


Mr. Leo Pinto

Olympian, Leo joined St. Stanislaus High School in 1930.At St. Stanislaus Leo represented the school's team in Hockey, Football and Cricket. In the latter sport he excelled in wicket-keeping, he was also regarded as a good and reliable opening bat. In Football Leo played as right winger and was found to be quite speedy in this position. Inspite of his success in cricket and football, hockey remained for Leo his favorite game.

Leo represented the country at the London Olympics where India won the gold medal. He played for the famous Lusitanian hockey club. They had brilliant success in the Bombay Hockey League, The Provincial Hockey Championship and Lewis Cup. They also won the Aga Khan Hockey tournament. He was invited to play for the House of Tata's hockey team in 1948. In 1972 Leo was appointed as selector by the Indian hockey Federation.

 


Mr. Francis D’Mello

Francis D’Mello, affectionately know as “Mickey” during his time at St. Stanislaus belonged to the Class of 1972. He excelled at hockey and at the time was the only school boy who represented India in an international hockey tournament, the 1971 Barcelona World Cup.

Francis was a boarder and was key in helping our school win all the major inter-school tournaments of the day. Francis currently works for Mahindra & Mahindra.

 

 

 


Mr. Marcellus Gomes

Olympian, Marcellus "Markie" Gomes graduated from St. Stanislaus High School in 1976.He represented Bombay at the Junior Nationals from 1975-1980.He was part of the team that won Junior Nationals in 1976. He represented Bombay at the Senior Nationals from1981-1990 and was part of the best National team in 1989. He was also captain of the winning team.

Marcellus Gomes represented India from 1981 to 1987. He is currently employed with Mahindra & Mahindra.

 

 

 


Viren Rasquinha

Viren graduated from St. Stanislaus in 199. He was the School Captain and stood first in School and was ranked 13th at the SSC Boards. Viren is one of the biggest stars of Indian Hockey, is an Olympian and the former captain of the Indian Hockey team. He was bestowed with the prestigious Arjuna Award for Hockey for the year 2005.

He has played 180 international matches for the Indian hockey team in a career spanning from 2002 till he retired in January 2008. He was an immensely gifted midfielder and an excellent team player known for his fearless tackling skills, tireless running and calm temperament. He was also the captain of the Maratha Warriors in the Premier Hockey League for 4 consecutive years from 2005-2008 and played for Stuttgart Kickers in the German Bundesliga in the 2007-08 season.

 After his retirement in 2008, Viren did his MBA at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad which is ranked 15th in the world in the Financial Times (FT) world rankings for MBA schools. He has a dual major in Marketing and Strategy. He is the Chief Operating Officer of Olympic Gold Quest.
